Ready to build your first site? This guide walks you through creating a new website on WebNesting.
Where to Create a Site
- Go to your account portal.
- Click the My Websites tab.
- Click the Create Website button.
The Site Creation Form
You'll see a short form with a few fields to fill in.
Choosing a site name
Pick a name for your site. Your site name can include letters, numbers, and spaces. This name becomes part of your web address. For example, if you choose "my-bakery," your site will be at:
my-bakery.webnesting.site
Tip: Keep your site name short and easy to remember. You can always connect a custom domain later if you want a different web address.
Setting your timezone
Choose the timezone where you're located. This makes sure dates and times across your site are displayed correctly.
Connecting a custom domain (optional)
If you already own a domain name (like mybakery.com), you can connect it during setup. This is completely optional. You can always add a custom domain later.
What Happens After You Click Create
Once you submit the form:
- Your site begins setting up. This may take a moment.
- A spinner shows on screen while everything is being prepared.
- When it's done, your site is ready to use.
Your Site Is Ready
Once your site has been created, you'll see it in your My Websites list. From there, you have two options:
- Click the admin panel link (labeled with your site's admin path, such as Sandbox) to go to your site's admin dashboard. This is where you'll manage content, design your pages, and adjust settings.
- Click the web address to see your live site as visitors will see it.
Tip: Your site is live right away, but it starts with a blank slate. Head to the admin dashboard to start adding content and making it your own.
Setting Up Your Site for the First Time
When you open your site's admin dashboard for the first time, a setup wizard will guide you through the basics. It helps you configure your site's name, description, and other essential settings.
Managing Multiple Sites
You can create more than one website on WebNesting. Each site has its own admin dashboard, its own content, and its own web address. All your sites are listed in the My Websites tab of your account portal.
To create another site, just click Create Website again and follow the same steps.
Deleting a Site
If you no longer need a website, you can delete it.
- Go to your account portal.
- Click the My Websites tab.
- Find the site you want to delete.
- Click the delete option for that site.
- Confirm that you want to delete it.
Warning: Deleting a site removes all of its content and data permanently. This cannot be undone. Make sure you're certain before you delete.
